Private Aircraft

Besides the Myrtle Beach International Airport, Horry County operates three smaller airports ready to take care of all your general aviation needs.

Conway-Horry County Airport, located 5 miles west of the County Seat of Conway, serves private and corporate aircraft with parking, refueling, maintenance and is the home of North American Institute of Aviation (NAIA).

NAIA, one of the finest aviation training schools in the nation, offers complete ground and flight training to obtain FAA private, commercial and ATP licenses. NAIA currently has approximately 160 students and 78 employees.

Grand Strand Airport, located in North Myrtle Beach, is well known to general aviation pilots as a popular destination and refueling point on the East Coast. The tower-controlled airport has precision & non-precision instrument approach facilities for all weather operations.

The airport's full service fixed base operator, Ramp 66, provides aviation gasoline, jet fuel, aircraft maintenance, car rentals and offers training for private, commercial and instrument flight training. In addition, Ramp 66 operates the only Federal Aviation certified air charter service in the Grand Strand area. Ramp 66's air charter service consist of 3 Beechcraft Barons and 3 single engine Cessna aircraft.

Twin City-Loris Airport, located two (2) miles northeast of Loris, South Carolina, serves as a training airport for practice approaches and landings for private aircraft. Blue Sky Aviation, owned and operated by Brian Strong, offers general aviation a variety of repair and restoration options. A complete stripping and painting facility is available adjacent to the airport for custom paint schemes.

The Grand Strand Airport (843-272-5337 or 843-272-6161) in North Myrtle Beach is located just off Highway 17 at 33rd Ave. S. Complete services and general aviation facilities are available.

The Conway-Horry County Airport 803-397-9111 provides corporate aircraft with parking, refueling and maintenance services. It is also the home of the North American Institute of Aviation, one of the finest flying schools in the nation. FBO Services and fuel are available.

The Twin City-Loris Airport is located at the intersection of Rt. 9 & 701, just north of Loris, SC. FBO/fuel Services are not available at this airport.
