Brookgreen's Nights of a Thousand Candles Held Three
Weekends in December!

Thousands of lights sparkle from live oak trees and illuminate garden paths, as musicians play, carolers sing and visitors experience the enchantment that only Nights of A Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens can bring. This holiday magic returns to Brookgreen Gardens on Friday and Saturday evenings, Dec. 2 - 3, 9 -10 and 16 -17 from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

South Carolina Bluegrass Festival
Come and enjoy three days of pickin' and grinin' at this Thanksgiving weekend Bluegrass Festival. The event will be held November 24-26, 2005. Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast & Veterans Pier Dedication - November 12, 2005
It’s an annual community tradition now. Oysters, chowder, hot dogs, burgers, sodas and beers with entertainment by local musicians. What better way to spend a fall Saturday afternoon. Location will be the parking lot near Crazy Sisters Marina (i.e., Captain Dick’s front parking lot). Pier dedication ceremony starts at 11:00 am. First batch of oysters will be thrown on the table immediately following the brief dedication ceremony.

Murrells Inlet 2007's 1940s Swing Dance
The public is invited to don a military uniform, zoot suit or vintage 1940s dresses and strut their best jitterbug at Murrells Inlet 2007’s annual autumn gala held on November 10, 2005 at 6:00 pm, which will raise money for the grassroots organization’s ongoing operations and community projects. A Salute to the Sea, a 1940s Crash Boat Station Swing Dance will be held at Inlet Affairs on Highway 17 Business in Murrells Inlet to celebrate local history and the WWII government dock where the Army Air Force Crash Boat Station was located.
