Myrtle Beach Marathon
The Myrtle Beach Marathon will be held February 17-19, 2006. The event includes the RBC Centura Bank 5K, Ripley’s Aquarium Fun Run, BI-LO Marathon, Dasani Half Marathon, House of Blues Myrtle Beach Marathon, Pelican's Pedal Pusher Bicycle Ride and much more! The event will benefit the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society of South Carolina. In nine years, the marathon has helped the society raise over $500,000.

Canadian American Days®
Shed the dreary coat of winter and celebrate the commencement of spring during the 44th Annual Canadian-American Days®, held this year March 11-19, 2006. For four decades, the festival has welcomed northern vacationers with warm South Carolina sunshine, beach games, community-sponsored activities, sporting events, and musical productions. Traditionally, the festival coincides with Ontario’s school holiday, enabling the entire family to plan a vacation along the 60 miles of clean, sandy beaches of the Grand Strand. Golfapalooza 2006
On Monday, April 11th, Myrtle Beach, SC, the "golf capital of the world," kicks off the spring golf season with the 2nd Annual Golfapalooza, a week-long celebration of golf. We’ll be joined by our friends from Golf Digest and Golf for Women, along with many of the leading golf equipment companies, including PING, TaylorMade, Hogan, GolfPride, Aldila, Sonartec, Aserta, Graphite Design, COBRA, Yonex, Tommy Armour, Nike Golf & others.

National Shag Dance Competition
National Shag Dance Competition will be held March 9-11, 2006. Beach Blanket Bingo may have faded away, but Myrtle Beach still celebrates the good old days with its yearly Shag Dance Contest. Now, you might not see Annette Funicello or even Frankie Avalon, but they will be here in spirit - dancing the night away!

Annual Horry County Museum Quilt Gala
The 12th Annual Quilt Gala will be held February 25-26, 2006. The Horry County Museum hosted the first annual quilt gala in 1994 on the lawn of the old County Courthouse with 40 beautiful quilts waving in the breeze. The event has grown into a two day show hosting almost 200 quilts, quilted items and vendors. The gala is held in the 17,000 sq. ft. Ocean Lakes Family Campground Recreation Center on the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach, S.C..

18th Annual Run to the Sun
18th Annual Run to the Sun will be held at Waccamaw Factory Shoppes on Hwy 501. The event includes classic cars from various states and Canada. Fifty percent of tickets sales go to sponsored charities. Raffle and vendors.

18th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival
The 18th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival will kick off March 18th from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This year's festival will feature an outstanding parade line-up, two stages of great entertainment, an expanded children's area and lots of homemade arts & crafts vendors. Performances include The Embers.
