Festival of Trees 2004 
The "Festival of Trees," which is in its third year, is a special Christmas tribute to the heritage and diversity of our great United States. Guests will be immersed in this holiday experience as they stroll through an amazing winter wonderland of 30 unique and ornately decorated state themed trees. Each tree depicts the heritage, culture, and notables of that particular state. The 2004 festival includes the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. The festival is held at Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach.

2004 Beach Ball Classic
It all started in 1981 as a dream of Socastee High School Coach Dan D’Antoni. The tournament consisted of 8 teams, 4 in state and 4 out of state, and it was the first event of this type ever held in the State of South Carolina. No one would have ever imagined the progression into a 16 team National tournament, lasting 22 years and becoming the Premier High School Holiday Tournament in the United States. The scholarship money is awarded to the winning schools, with the stipulation that it is used only for direct expenses related to the higher education of students.

Myrtle Beach Lifestyles Expo
Largest retirement show on the Carolina coast providing coastal retirees and visitors information on retirement and leisure lifestyles to include real estate opportunities, health services, special products, investment services, volunteer opportunities, community services, and live entertainment in Myrtle Beach. The event will be held at Myrtle Beach Convention Center January 7-8, 2005 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Myrtle Beach Marathon
The Myrtle Beach Marathon will be held February 17-20, 2005. The event includes the RBC Bank 5K, Ripley’s Family Fun Run, BI-LO Marathon, Dasani Half Marathon, Marathon Relay and much more! The event will benefit the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society of South Carolina. In eight years the marathon has helped the society raise over $500,000.

Nights of a Thousand Candles
December 3 - 18, 2004 Friday and Saturday nights 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thousands of lights sparkle among live oak trees and illuminate the garden paths as musicians perform, carolers sing and visitors experience the enchantment that only Brookgreen can bring. Mark your calendars now for this holiday experience you'll not soon forget. Tickets are $10. Member tickets are $8 when purchased at the gate and $6 when purchased in advance. Children 12 and under are FREE.
